Support

Every month our school raises money for various charities and at times, a speaker is invited from organizations to inform our students about their work.

How we help others

Sacred Heart School strives to be a positive member of the community in which it exists, is sensitive to the interests of its neighbors, and takes appropriate advantage of the character of its setting. Sacred Heart School offers space for Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, participates in the Norwich winter Festival Parade, performs winter and spring concerts, serenades Taftville neighbors with Christmas carols, holds a parish pancake breakfast and family Halloween dance, educates parishioners with a Wax Museum of the Saints and holds Scholastic Book Fairs. Fund raising for community, national organizations and international organizations is ongoing throughout the year. Community fundraising such as the Hospice Foundation, Sacred Heart Church Food Pantry (several food drives), Dash To Heaven, Chili Cook Off, Madonna House, Parish Pancake Breakfasts, Bingo Night at Foxwoods, school musicals, family social, Man In My Life Dance and Camp Rising Sun. National Organizations supported annually by Sacred Heart School are the Contribution for Gladi, who is a child sponsored in the Dominican Republic, Haitian Health Foundation, Wounded Warriors Project, Columbian Missions, and a coin drive for Leukemia Foundation.

Sacred Heart School holds food drives to help keep our parish food pantry stocked. Dress-down days are held in which money is collected to help cancer patients and the Haitian Health Foundation, as well as many other worthy organizations. With the example of Jesus as our guide we teach our students to live out our school motto, “Love Serves”, with many different service and charity projects. One of the ways in which this is done is that we support a young woman in South America with student donations in our classroom Mission Jars.

Financial Aid Resources

The financial aid resources committed to helping students and their families reflect the goals and mission of Sacred Heart School. There are two main sources of tuition assistance: the Catholic School Foundation and an anonymous grant. Sharing these resources with those in our school who are in need provides the opportunity to serve others in the image of Jesus. Parents apply for tuition assistance through the FACTS Tuition Management System and this company provides a suggested amount of tuition assistance per family. The administration is able to review not only the suggested assistance amount but also the personal stories of the family who apply. The administration evaluates the positive individual growth of students in order to make a decision regarding tuition assistance year to year.
