Student Achievement
Sacred Heart students in Grades 2-8 take national standardized tests each year. Their over-all performance has been well above the national average. Standardized tests are used for diagnostic reasons, and not to rate the school or compare it with other schools. Students in Catholic schools in Connecticut are not allowed by the Connecticut State Dept. of Education to take the Connecticut Mastery Test.

| In 2003 twenty-one students graduated from Sacred Heart. Seventeen of them went on to Norwich Free Academy, a blue ribbon high school in Norwich. In 2005 they took the CAPT Test mandated by the State of CT for all 10th grade students. The achievement level of SHS students who attended NFA was considerably above the population at NFA. |
